What is CEU's campus like?
CEU is located in downtown Budapest, a few blocks from the Danube River, directly in the center of one of the most exciting and historic districts of Budapest. CEU's conference facilities, where some students choose to reside for their semester, are located outside of downtown Budapest and contain a business center, concierge, and swimming pool, among other amenities.

What is the language of instruction?
With rare exceptions, all CEU courses are taught in English, although English may not be the first language of everyone in the classroom. Courses in basic Hungarian language are also available.

Will I be able to do the work?
Motivated undergraduates with various academic backgrounds have found CEU to be challenging but within reach of their capabilities. In fact, some students have been surprised by how highly they have been able to achieve.

What makes CEU different from other programs?
Students who attend CEU through Bard College have the unique ability to take graduate level courses as undergraduates. Undergraduate students can choose courses across the curriculum. This allows participants from diverse academic backgrounds to construct a semester of challenging and thought-provoking courses.

How big is CEU? Will I get personal attention?
CEU is an institution of approximately 1,000 students, with small classes and a strong advising system. In addition, undergraduates in Bard's program receive the support of an academic program director and program coordinator.

Will I take classes with graduate students?
Absolutely. Undergraduates enrolled in Bard's study abroad program at CEU will enroll directly in master's level courses in the social sciences and humanities.

Credit for coursework at CEU is issued via Bard College, on a Bard transcript, for easy transfer to any U.S. institution.
